Button's Blog

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog where you can find out about all the cool things that have happened to me. I will tell you about all of my adventures and some of the things the humans that I live with get up to.

There's my human mom, my 'food fairy'. I know I'll always get something good when she's about. There's my human dad; he's a bit of a grump at times, but always good for a game of football (but he's no David Beckham). There's nan who sometimes comes to visit and doggy sit and the two half pint humans who come and stay and play with me, when they're not doing homework.

I will also be telling you about all sorts of interesting and useful stuff that I have learnt about; including dog food recipes and some of the special jobs that dogs do.

More fun and frolics

Hi everyone,

It’s springtime and I’m all ready for some new adventures. One of my favourite places is the Dingles, a six acre green space in the Cole Valley that forms part of the Shire CountryPark.

The area is relatively flat, so it’s great for any old pups who has difficulty with hills, though sometimes it can get very slippery when it gets muddy orwhen there’s snow and ice on the ground.

Although it’s only a few miles from Birmingham City Centre, the Dingles provides a habitat for wildflowers and insects, birds and mammals.

There is so much to see and sniff and with each season there are new smells and ever changing undergrowth to explore. There’s loads of critters too. You get the usual suspects like Robins, Black Birds, Jays and Thrushes, but there’s loads more to see such as, Herons, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers and Nuthatchs.

The ground alongside the riverbanks are covered with a carpet of wild garlic at the moment and the blossom on the trees has a beautiful scent. There’s also loads of squirrels and you can watch them as they scurry along the branches above your head. But what I love most of all is splashing about in the river; it’s much more fun than the wash I have to have when I get home.

I’ve made some good doggy chums there too, but I like the owners better because they will give me treats.

Anyway, must dash, loads of sniffing to be getting on with.
